Cutie Copper Corrosion Tester is used for abrasion tests of petroleum products on copper and silver surfaces up to 150°C. The device has an aluminum dry block chamber with 4, 8 and 12 chamber models.

The ASTM D130 Method covers the determination of the corrosiveness of all hydrocarbons with a vapor pressure of less than 37.8 kPa (124 psi) at 18°C on copper surfaces. This method is used to determine the level of corrosiveness of hydrocarbons to copper. At different temperatures, a copper strip is immersed in the hydrocarbon sample. After a certain period of time, the wear on the copper strip is examined. Finally, a classification number is assigned according to the ASTM D130 schedule.

The Cutie Copper Corrosion Tester enables silver and copper corrosion tests of gasoline, aerospace turbine fuel, or other petroleum products to be performed in accordance with ASTM D130, D1838, D4048, D4814 Annex, IP227, and ISO 2160 standards.

Tests performed according to ASTM D130 standard:

  • Aviation gasoline, aviation turbine fuel, @ 100°C (test bomb)
  • Natural gasoline, @ 40°C (test bomb)
  • Diesel fuel and fuel oils, automotive petrol, @ 50° to 100°C a (test tube)
  • Cleaners and kerosene at 100°C in a test tube
  • Lubricating oils @ 100°C and higher temperature (test tube)
